The most affordable, oldest neighborhood in Tahoe is Tahoe Sierra real estate, formerly known as Sierra Tract. Located between Trout Creek Meadows and the Truckee River, access can be gained off Lake Tahoe Blvd. Like most neighborhoods on the South Shore, Tahoe Sierra is close to all that this area has to offer. Local beaches include Pope Beach, Reagan Beach and El Dorado Beach. Also within a quick distance is Powerline Bike Trail and Desolation Wilderness giving the local hikers and bikers the ability to be outdoors within minutes! And of course the Heavenly Gondola and village are close by as well as entertainment and nightlife.
Typically the homes here are less than 1,200 sq. ft. with 3 beds and 2 baths. The central area of the Tract has homes that usually sit on lots 5,000 sq. ft. in size. Along with several single family homes, this area has multifamily buildings as well as newer contemporary style construction. A lot of these homes benefit from gorgeous views of the forest, meadows and mountains.
